Summary Description
Primary Goal:
The primary goal of the Marketing Coordinator position is to support the Marketing Department in promoting PDA’s brand and offerings including conferences, events, publications, reports, and membership. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing marketing communications using multiple channels and marketing technology systems that reflect PDA’s brand and communicate the value of PDA and its offerings.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with design and production staff and contractors to facilitate production of materials, from conception to publication.
- Work with subject matter experts, PDA staff, and others to gather information for clear and relevant drafting of communications, including direct discussions with members, Chairs, and authors.
- Track and report on marketing and communication performance, including reviewing campaign reports.
- Maintain schedules and calendars for campaigns and initiatives.
- Participate in and execute campaigns representing PDA’s offerings in coordination with the marketing team, including the Vice President and Manager of Marketing Services.
- Seek ways to improve response rates and leverage integrated communication channels to maximize effectiveness.
- Work with outside designers, print shops, and mail houses to develop and mail promotional materials, manage budgets, and production schedules.
- Manage and support PDA’s social media posting and channels.
- Work with the web team to improve PDA’s website appearance, usability, and functionality.
- Manage updates to the PDA home page, including overseeing development of new sliders and updates to the “What’s New” section.
- Support special projects as required.
- Other duties may be assigned or changed based on department needs.
Additional Responsibilities
This position involves interaction with PDA members, external organizations, and PDA staff as follows:
- Membership: Direct interaction with PDA members during events and other activities, primarily for marketing research.
- Other Organizations: May collaborate with partnering organizations in joint promotional campaigns as required.
- Other PDA Staff: Works independently and cross-organizationally, requiring strong communication skills to build consensus and implement change.
Education / Experience
Candidates must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in print and electronic marketing communications in a fast, high-volume environment is required, along with the ability to analyze and interpret marketing and sales data, and test new promotional approaches.
A BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required (or equivalent work experience). 1–2 years of experience preferred.

The Marketing Coordinator is a savvy marketer and communicator who understands how to use print and electronic mediums effectively. The Coordinator thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborates across departments, and helps develop promotional concepts and copy for web and print based on data analysis.
Key success factors include organization, flexibility, diplomacy, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently. The position also involves reporting on digital marketing performance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat is required. Experience with HubSpot is required; basic knowledge of HTML is desired.

- Policy Formulation: Works with management to develop marketing communication processes and brand/image guidelines.
- Planning: Maintains marketing schedules, assists with strategic planning, and identifies cross-divisional opportunities to reduce costs and increase sales.
- Decision Authority: Manages day-to-day marketing communications and coordinates with production teams, vendors, and product managers.
- Budgetary Responsibility: Manages outsourced services, tracks expenses, and assists in developing promotional budgets and revenue forecasts.
